Janae-Rose Fageyinbo is a proud Charlotte, North Carolina native and a first-year student at Yale University. Her interests include volunteering (especially with children), baking, reading, and spending quality time with loved ones. Janae-Rose joined A Better Chance in an effort to expand her horizons and pursue her educational goals. As the daughter of an immigrant single mother, Janae-Rose is always ready to take advantage of resources to learn and better herself. With ABC’s aid, she was able to attend Charlotte Country Day School from sixth grade to senior year. There Janae-Rose explored travel abroad opportunities in Amsterdam, France, England, and Spain. In addition, she took various leadership roles by participating in diversity initiatives and leading school clubs. As a leader in the classroom, Janae earned 40 points to achieve her IB diploma, and it’s not surprising that she was also inducted into her school’s cum laude society for her high GPA. ABC’s support throughout her high school years and continued support beyond will enable Janae-Rose to continue to excel in the years ahead.
